JOhann klassenThis anonymous interviewee works at a public library with 10-50 people.  S/he is a librarian.  S/he did not answer the question that determines in what capacity the respondent has been involved in library hiring.  This person also many of the survey questions.

What are the top three things you look for in a candidate?

If they’re qualified, if they show rapport with the hiring committee, and if they are prepared for the interview and have obviously researched the library and the community.

Do you have any instant dealbreakers, either in the application packet or the interview process?

If I find out, or know that they are lying.

How many pages should a cover letter be?

√ Two is ok, but no more

Do you have a preferred format for application documents?

√ .pdf

Should a resume/CV have an Objective statement?

√ No

If applications are emailed, how should the cover letter be submitted?

√ As an attachment only
